...And basically, your go to Kitten for anything studio related!
I am known for my insane flexibility and extreme aerial pole tricks, I have won many State and National titles in Pole Dancing and rated as your Top 50 Pole Dancer in Australia, 3 years running.
Honestly, I feel like an imposter, just winging life and sharing my love for dance. I am here, just having a great time!
I have been teaching Pole Dance and Contortion for over a decade and with a background in both professional gymnastics and Ballet, I have a huge range of knowledge to share with my doe-eyed students.
I had a vision to open a dance studio that encourages everyone from all walks of life to dance and express themselves, to feel empowered, beautiful and confident.
Come and join me, this kitten doesn't bite.
It all started with two sisters, Kristy Louise and Cassy May, who were inspired to create an inclusive and diverse space for those wanting to explore the empowering and playful side of pole dancing and fitness.
After weeks of renovations, we opened our first small boutique studio in 2019—just in time to be hit by a pandemic. Like many small businesses, we adapted by offering online classes to stay connected with our loyal students.
Round two came with just three instructors, and when we reopened, the studio flourished, growing in culture and diversity.
Thanks to our dedicated students, we thrived, and by round three, we relocated in late 2021 to a larger space, making us one of Canberra's largest studios.
Teaching what we love the most is truly a dream come true!
While Cassy May stepped away from the studio to follow her own dreams and passions, you’ll still catch her around, throwing some amazing parties!
Kristy Louise, with over a decade of dance experience, continues to pursue the dream of building an empire of confident pole dancing Kittens.
And so, the Kittens Pole Dancing Studio was born.
Now, with 11 talented instructors, each sharing their unique stories, experiences, and styles, our studio is the vibrant place it is today.
We are proud to foster a diverse community where body positivity and self-acceptance are at the heart of everything we do.
Our instructors are committed to creating a welcoming environment for women, men, and the LGBTQIA+ community—a place where everyone can feel inspired and connected.
It was a Friday when we received the exciting news that Louise May had been selected as a FINALIST for the Australian Small Business Champion Awards 2022!
This prestigious award is one of the most esteemed business honors in Australia, and to be named a finalist is beyond our wildest expectations. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to network and celebrate alongside some of the country’s most successful businesses!
Reflecting on how far we’ve come in such a short time is both emotional and exciting. From our humble beginnings in Farrer to our beautiful Greenway studio, we’re incredibly grateful to be recognized alongside all the other finalists.
A huge thank you to our amazing students – you help make our studio the inclusive, friendly, and fun space that so many people call home. Behind the scenes, though, it takes a lot of hard work, sweat, and long hours.
From setting up the new studio and the countless hours our instructors spend choreographing, to event planning and all the administrative work – it all adds up. We are blessed to have family and friends who support us, and it often looks effortless, but it’s thanks to so many people.
A heartfelt thank you to Graeme and Lindsay, who have been there every step of the way, helping us make our dream a reality.
A huge shout-out to our instructor family. Without your unwavering dedication over the past three years, we wouldn’t be able to share our love of dance with the community.
And of course, a massive thanks to our family and close friends. Your ongoing support and the time you so generously give to help keep our studio running smoothly is truly incredible!
We acknowledge that we meet, learn and work on the land of the Ngunnawal people.
We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. Always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
We acknowledge that our style of pole, dance and Show Pony classes have roots stemming from the pioneers of exotic pole dance. We pay our respects to Sex Workers, Strippers and those in the adult industry that have made it available to the mainstream society.
